On 16 July, a good start will be given by an exceptional long-awaited mature performance during the opening of Midsummer Vilnius Festival: one of the most famous Lithuanian musicians Andrius Mamontovas will address the hearts of listeners from a different angle, together with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra led by conductor Modestas Pitrėnas. Songs from the solo album released by Andrius Mamontovas 20 years ago titled “Šiaurės Naktis. Pusė Penkų” (Northern Night. Half Past Four) as well as most popular pieces such as “Laužo Šviesa” (Light of Fireplace) and “Saulės Miestas” (Sun City), etc. will be heard during the project prepared exceptionally for Midsummer Vilnius Festival.
The “Šiaurės Naktis. Pusė Penkų” (Northern Night. Half Past Four) album was the first major work by the performer after the “Foje” band separated. According to Andrius Mamontovas, it was particularly this album that was worth exclusive attention because it is very integral, and it will be therefore performed from the beginning to the end during the concert, marking the album’s 20th anniversary.
