On the penultimate night of the “Midsummer Vilnius” festival, the poets of romantic alternative rock – “Garbanotas” – will give us their hearts from the stage. On July 27, they will appear in an unusual, never-before-heard line-up with a string quartet and harps.

“On a summer evening heated by the life of the city and nature, to vibrate the air with strings and release our most beautiful songs into the sky from the heart of the city – accompanied by violins, violas, and harps. Bringing back the memories of the old city and interweaving them with today’s life. What could be better? A pure midsummer night’s dream” – this is the vision of the band “Garbanotas” performance.

In the courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, songs from the latest album, “Kūnas dangaus,” will be heard, immersing the listeners in a dizzying ecstasy of light music and poetry. In a little over a decade, the band released six studio albums, organized concerts to present these albums in major cities of Lithuania, and visited 13 foreign countries.

Their performances were watched by the audience at such festivals as “Great Escape” (England), “Liverpool Sound City” (England), “Ment Ljubljana” (Slovenia), “Reeperbahn” (Germany), “Tallinn Music Week” (Estonia), “Positivus” (Latvia), “Europavox” (France).

The work of the group “Garbanotas” is full of emotions – both sad tones and joyful echoes in their music. As they say, they draw inspiration from various life experiences and everyday events.

For its musical activities, the band won awards in Lithuania and beyond: Lithuanian T.Ė.T.Ė alternative music awards – “Rock Group of the Year” award (2013), M.A.M.A awards – “Alternative of the Year (2015), at the “Tallinn Music Week” festival in Estonia, the group got the “Audience Favorite” (2016) award.
